Social Security Reform

Created by J.D. on January 15, 2013

With a rising debt problem and government gridlock Social Security reform may be the last thing on people's minds but it must be addressed, even Ben Bernanke said it (http://wapo.st/97Qpvs).

A few things that should be considered while reforming are:
1.A promise is a promise, all benefits promised should be payed out.
2.There should be an option to opt-out of social security
3.Money paid out for social security should be money we have, not money we borrow.
4.People need to know they have real assets in their fund.

Even if these exact ideas aren't followed the important thing is that we begin having a serious conversation about social security. No pandering. No screaming.
