Social Security payroll taxes should be paid by everyone, no matter how much they earn. Right now only the poor and the middle class pay Social Security taxes on their total earnings. The rich stop paying into the Social Security fund when their earnings reach about $120,000.00. There is no reason for that. We all pay Medicare taxes on our entire incomes. Why not do the same for Social Security?
If everyone paid on his/her full earnings then all of us could be paying a lower rate and there would be no risk of the Social Security Trust Fund going broke.
