I think it is wrong for food assistance to be used on soda and candy. It should be used on food that is really needed to feed a family. Soda and candy are not essentials. I also think cash assistance should not be used to buy cigarettes, alcohol, or lottery tickets. This is the tax payers money and the tax payer does not work hard just so someone can use their hard earned money to buy unneeded things. At my job I have people come in everyday and buy bottles of soda and bags of candy using food assistance and after they pay for that they take a $20 bill out of their pocket and by lottery tickets. Something has got to change there are people who would love some assistance to help pay for a loaf a bread and a gallon of milk but can't get the help!
