Our soldiers signed contracts and fulfilled those contracts and states used too many bonuses to incentive those soldiers to sign. Those contracts were correct to the best knowledge of those soldiers and were faithfully executed by them as written. To years later say that an audit found those contracts allowed them too much money and take the money back from these soldiers directly is heinous. It is both a hardship and a violation of trust. The government committed to terms with these soldiers and the soldiers did their part.
The government should not pursue these debts from individual soldiers but should pursue the debts between agencies. Individuals should not be penalized for doing what they promised to do.
