We propose that all firearms sold in the US carry electronic tracking and locking devices rendering them inoperable within designated gun-safe zones. The aim of this petition is to maintain complete freedom of firearm ownership and use while rendering all firearms inherently safe in areas where their use threatens public or individual well-being. The technology to do this exists. We urge the President to take the lead in implementing this simple and effective solution to the gun control debate dividing this country.
