Dear Mr. President,
Your request to Congress for $1B of new funding is designed to speed development of cancer immunotherapy.
You described the program as “...the fight to end cancer.”
But immunotherapy is a method for TREATING cancer, not preventing it. So don't use misleading words like "vaccine," "cure" and "end cancer."
Do something better with the money. Allocate at least 30% of the $1B to learn how to reverse the ~30% rise in cancer incident rates that occurred during 1975-2000. (National Cancer Institute data is summarized at MoonshotPetition.us)
Don't spend money only on what researchers and drug companies like. Spend on what voters are afraid of, rising incidence. Why didn't preventives work? Figure that out, and we will truly be ahead.
