Somaliland has been an independent in 26 June 1960 from the British protectorate. More than 25 states immediately accepted and recognized Somaliland as a soveriegn state.
Unfortunately, after five days from their independence, Somaliland people decided to unite with the southern Somalis who were under Italian colony but became independent five days after Somaliland.
After thirty years of injustice, inequality of resources and power-sharing and massive genocide known and identified by the international human right watch groups, Somaliland people again decided to withdraw the union of the great Somalia.
For that, Somaliland people started to speak up for looking international recognition from the international community for the last 22 years which is missing yet
