Some of the people that have been caught up in recent immigrations sweeps do have American families. The felony deportations focus on the past and not on what the immigrant is doing NOW. I was recently caught up in operation cross check for a crime committed 7 years ago, when I was picked up I owned a business paid taxes, filed EVERY year. I have never hidden. I have been here my ENTIRE life and due to a hang up on my mother had to love here for 5 years after she turned 14 I cannot claim citizenship. what does her turning 14 have to do with anything?????
