Somebody please tell me how Ben Franklyn's definition of a fire arm morphed into today's assault weapons.

Created by R.G. on April 16, 2013

Somebody please tell me how Ben Franklyn and Thomas Jefferson's definition of a fire arm morphed into today's assault weapon for home possession. I believe in the 2nd Amendment for flintlocks, not Glocks and assault weapons of war of today, 230 years after the American Revolutionary War.
