The education system is a power granted to the states by the 10th amendment of our Constitution which states "that the powers no therein delegated should be reserved to the several States." Throughout our country, the education system is falling apart. The high school in my area has SMART Boards in every classroom, and fully funds over 100 extracurricular activities, while on the other hand, a high school in inner-city Memphis is allowed one half of a ream of copy paper per teacher PER YEAR! This is an outrage. The budget for education should be federalized so that everyone in this nation has equal educational opportunities, no matter where in the country they live.
