Special needs kids receive unfair treatment all over the country by being placed in the wrong class. The parents are allowed to decline their child's placement in a lower level class, thus causing the special needs child to struggle in a classroom setting with curriculum that is more than they can handle. Parents do this for many reasons; they may be in denial of their child's need for extra help, or they may just not want to go through the trouble of getting this extra help. Either way, it is unfair for the special needs child, and the other children in the class, for the special needs child to be placed in the wrong class. By being placed in the correct place, special needs children have access to an abundance of help and aid to get them the appropriate education.
