Specify on label if pesticides are used in producing organic foods

Created by A.S. on June 17, 2014

As consumers, we pay an exorbitant amount of money in buying organic produce all under the impression that no pesticides are used in growing them. However, a lot of people are not aware that organic producers are allowed to use natural pesticides (and not the synthetic ones used for conventional produce) that are not necessarily safer than the later; in fact, some studies have shown the natural pesticides to be more harmful that the synthetic ones. We have the right to know if pesticides were used in growing our organic produce and people must be aware of what they are paying for. If an organic producer uses natural/organic pesticides, the label on the produce must say so.
