We, the people, feel that the use of armed drones to kill U.S. citizens is deeply troubling. Attorney General Holder was not very clear about the possible circumstances under which drones could be used to kill U.S. citizens. Historically, vague explanations frequently lead to abuses. We would ask the Administration to spell out clearly the circumstances that would trigger the need to use drones to kill citizens.
On the question of constitutionality, citizens are guaranteed their rights regardless of any other factors. In 2004's Hamdi v. Rumsfeld, Justice O'Connor wrote that, "A state of war is not a blank check for the President when it comes to the rights of the Nation's citizens." Please defend clearly the constitutionality of this or end the attempt to make the practice happen.
