Spend anti-drug money on education and rehabilitation, where it does the most good

Created by M.K. on September 04, 2015

Please propose a bill to eliminate the Drug Enforcement Administration and divert the funding to anti-drug education, health and safety education programs, addiction research, addiction rehabilitation and fighting violent crime.

The only anti-drug abuse programs that have had a significant impact are long-term education programs. Arresting illegal drug users and providers has not reduce drug abuse. The reason given by President Nixon for the "War on Drugs" was theft reduction, this never worked.

Drug enforcement has actually increased illegal drug use, and street violence by increasing the profit margin for drug providers. Jailing drug addicts does not eliminate addiction. Drug enforcement and drug providers kill more people than abuse of illegal drugs.
