One of the clearest threats to our democratic process is the infiltration of private funds and resources from anonymous sources in influencing elections. This petitions hopes to create legislation forbidding all private donations in congressional and presidential elections. All qualified candidates will split a shared amount of public money devoted specifically for election campaigns thereby returning these elected officials accountability to the people and away from private donors.
