As Americans we are incredibly fortunate to have access to world-class education. With the establishment of curriculum standards, proper governmental funding and access to resources, America has been able to spark development and prosperity within our nation. There exists a fundamental human responsibility to help one another. Liberia’s current model for education is non-existent. Lacking proper facilities, supplies and quality educators the “free-public school system” is more an inhibitor than a facilitator of learning. Without educating the country’s vast population of youth, Liberia will continue its spiral into global poverty. By establishing accessible schools, with proper resources, in cities outlying Monrovia, we can stimulate the economy and infrastructure of the entire nation.
