It's important because we can better care for our love ones, and should be paid for it just like children, nieces nephews etc. Most of the time we are doing it any way even with the help of a Aide/ Assistant. The way the law reads now is a married couple can't take care of there spouse and recieve payment for it, because you married that person and the State say better or worse.
