Citizens who stand against the further polluting of American water are left unprotected from zealous law enforcement hired by the corporations of the oil industry. Stories of citizens being stripped search including young women is a far overbearing law enforcement approach and seems uncalled for as a policing technique. Human rights are being violated as a means of intimidating citizens to prevent caring humans from bringing national attention to the issues. Meanwhile national media is relatively nonexistent regarding the issue.
We call upon the President to bring attention to the inappropriate treatment of Native Americans and to demand civility by our law enforcement in this current conflict in the North Dakota, Native Americans territory.
