Bullying has become a major issue in society today and it continues to get worse. (It is estimated that 160,000 children miss school every day due to fear of attack or intimidation by other students.) Not only does bullying lower someone’s self-esteem and ruin their life, it sometimes causes the victim to end their life. 1 out of 4 kids are bullied and in 2005, 270 children in the 10-14 age group killed themselves due to being a victim of bullying. Bullying affects everyone, the victim, the bystanders, and even the bully. Bullies should be sent to counseling and the victims should be able to get a free restraining order against them. No child's safety should have to be bought.
