Last year the GOP decided to jeopardize our economic progress and the credit standing of the United States by not increasing the debt ceiling. This has never happened in our history. These same politicians voted to increase it several times during the Bush spending splurge with no problem.
The consevative media outlets mislead Amercans to believe that this was necessary to stop the President from spending more money. Which is a lie.
The debt ceiling increase did not allow the President to spend 1 more dollar. It allows him to pay the bills we already have accrued. In other words, we already spent it and the bills need to be paid. Ironically, these same people appropriated the spending of this money that exceeded the ceiling.
Don't let them hold our economy hostage or damage our credi
