The majority of Americans want government to work, and are disappointed a small minority of hard line conservatives continually endanger our jobs, economy, the country’s financial credibility, and our health care system.
In the short-term, work with moderate Republicans to explore a viable option for a Democrat to be Speaker of the House. This would ensure moderates hold the most influence and would work together on bipartisan legislation.
As a long-term answer, find a solution to end the gerrymandering of Congressional districts. The current method for drawing of Congressional districts allows fringe candidates to win elections and have undue influence. Representatives would then be more concerned about representing their entire districts and not the small vocal minority.
