The President was re-elected because of his tough stance on getting rid of the Bush Tax Cuts for those making over $250,000, and no cuts to Social Security and Medicare. He promised the nation a balanced and fair budget.
At this time, he has gone well over halfway in trying to satisfy the Republicians. And this is not acceptable with two weeks left.
It would be better to go over the cliff than to offer the cuts our President has on the table.
