A responsible response to the tragedy that happened in France is not to lock down. We have an important monument on our border which represents our commitment to the world. As it happens, this monument was a gift from the people of France given in the spirit of liberty and freedom. The poem interred within our Lady Liberty speaks for itself.

"...
Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
