STANDARDIZE SELF-DEFENSE CLASSES FOR EDUCATORS THROUGH COMBINED EFFORTS OF DEPT. OF EDUCATION & DEPT. HOMELAND SECURITY

Created by T.T. on December 18, 2012

Teachers are expected to be a source of security and discipline in the classroom. For that reason, as increased measures of protection are required in public schools, herein is a proposal that teachers participate in standardized, nationally accredited physical education training of the self-defense type, preferably “Tae Kwon Do”, to be administered through the State Teacher Certification and Professional Standards Commissions.

Objective: This will increase the team and partnership mentality of American teachers, the level of respect given to teachers, will allow teachers to better protect the students, will give teachers the confidence and ability to disarm and subdue attackers without killing them, and will create a protective mentality that doesn’t rely on weapons of destruction.
