Start a carbon tax

We need to pay for what we use. Just like how cigarettes are taxed. We as americans, one of the worst as far as our carbon footprint goes, are ruining not only our quality of life, but the entire worlds. We need to pay for the damage we do, to help come up with solutions on how we can prove our situation. Also just like cigarettes, once they were taxed, less people used that product, people will use less things that cause a carbon footprint. Ive also heard that it's more or a tax shift than a raise. This is something very important, and a simple way we can make a big impact on the world.
