start dealing with the fiscal cliff by reducing the pay that government officials receive annually to $50,000 dollars

currently the rank & file congressperson receives $174,000 dollars annually, and more above that for senior members. I found out that the entry level salary lawyers receive is like $50,000 or so. you can see the annual savings right there. No they should be paid for their experience of course, but the starting wage for a lawyer is $50,000 ! this is what i think the base pay for congresspeople should be. There are millions of dollars in savings to be reaped in a reduction in Federal pay of 7 million to start if everyone in congress reduced their pay to just $160,000 annually ! imagine what kind of money could be spent on OTHER STUFF like entitlements if the pay scale was reduced to $50,000 ?! Instead, taxpayers are financing reps lavish lifestyles !
