The state of the family court systems in most states. It is, in a nutshell, a horrible mess. Part of the problem is not enough judges. Another is how it is based on archaic law and practices that that promotes conflict. Worst of all, it aids and abets the abuse of children by poor decision making.
Here are some suggestions for improvement.
1. Eliminate all lawyers from the system. Lawyers only work to increase the level of conflict and aid and abet child alienation, while at the same time draining the life savings of the families involved.
2. Child custody should be determined by a jury of ones peers. A group of experienced parents will make better decisions, and do it more cheaply.
3. Allegations of abuse should be treated as a crime, with a jury trial and presumption of innocence
