There are people on our current science committee in congress who are so scientifically illiterate that they do not even have a basic understanding of biological and zoological science. We cannot abide having our scientific futures being determined by people without the respect and good sense to learn the subject matter for which they create policy. We would like a reasoned dialogue to begin with congress to determine who might actually have some measure of scientific background, and to place those people where they belong, or, failing to find anyone with sufficient scientific background to equate to public high school, ask why there is such a sad discrepancy and enact policy reform to correct it.
