Since the 1980s when we stopped enforcing anti-trust laws, many businesses merged to the point where only a few companies coexist in every industry. By creating powerful brand images and avoiding each others business, most of our industries are now noncompetitive.
This is evident by the increase in the price index from 127 to 360 since 1980, and the stagnation of wages and rising unemployment of the past 30 years.
We ask you, our president, to do your job for the American people. Yes, it will hurt the bottom line of the ridiculously wealthy, but it will help out every single American in the bottom 90%. Make our markets competitive again, so that we can rediscover the American dream!
