Stephen Slevin spent 22 months in solitary confinement without a trial after being arrested for a DWI, neglected to the point where he was forced to pull out his own tooth because he wasn't allowed to see a dentist. His toenails grew so long that they curled around his foot, and fungus festered on his skin because he was deprived of showers . No jail personnel have been fired over Slevin's treatment. Even thought this is a clear violation of the eight amendment.
