Given the state of the nation's economy, the public has heard much about how excellence in math and science educations will unlock new innovation that will drive us forward. As exciting as that prospect is, the importance of a well-rounded education seems to be lost on many leaders and policy makers, particularly when it comes to funding the arts. In order to compensate for this disparity in focus, we the undersigned encourage President Obama to form a jazz band with President Bill Clinton on the saxophone, and select both Democrats and Republicans from Congress to serve as the background band. The goal of this band should be to perform around the country and raise awareness for the importance of the arts in our children's education.
