Seven dead and dozens are captured, injured and tortured in the Ukraine. Why should the USA care? Because basic human rights are being violated as this petition is being signed. Because loss of the Ukraine as strategic US ally will further destabilize Eastern Europe and lead to strengthening of neighboring totalitarian regimes. Because in the Ukraine freedom of speech is denied. Information is withheld. People of the Ukraine suffer modern form of slavery. Because if we don't act now, soon, there will be nothing to act on.
