A conversation is already occurring all over this country about gun control in the wake of the mass shootings that have plagued this country for several decades now. I don't believe that America's relatively lax gun control laws are the main issue that is contributing to these tragedies, however. And I sense.. I hope that I'm not alone in this belief.
We must begin reforming our country's policies and our country's outlook on those with mental health issues. We must get better funding for their treatment, we must end the stigma towards them, we must reform.
I say this as a person with mental illness and as a person who doesn't want to see these tragedies continue. I also say this as a proud and responsible gun owner who loves his country.
