start a nationalized oil program to drill, refine, and sell fuel back to U.S. citizens at a low capped rate to pay debt.

This is a petition to request that the United States government, on behalf of its citizens, start a national oil program that takes the oil that belongs to the citizens, refines it, distibutes it, and sells it back to us, with all proceeds going to pay off the national debt. The price should start at $2.00/ gal and only increase at a rate of 2.5%/ yr for 10 years and then capped. This is a good defensive strategy since we will no longer be dependent on foreign energy sources. This solves our energy problems until a viable alternative emerges. This would be the best stimulus for the economy that we could hope for, more cash, more jobs, more financial stability, and our country no longer held prisoner by big oil companies.
