Start a nationwide public high school ECONOMICS course.

Created by D.P. on September 21, 2013

Our country, especially the younger generations, are largely economically illiterate. I don't think it is appropriate that this discipline has been regulated to college level courses. Understanding basic finance/economic principles should hold just as much merit as the values we hold as a nation for chemistry, physics, biology, literature, etc. A recent poll by Reuters concluded that 73% of the US population does not know what QE is! Quantitative Easing is not an advanced economic term, it is quite elementary. This poll is a large reason behind the motivation for this petition. I believe one could make a very reasonable argument that our citizen's finances are in such poor shape because overall, they know nothing about finance or economics; and it's wrong to put the blame on them.
