Legislation should be enacted to stop the sexual harassment and violence that women and girls face online. A man is not disrespected, dehumanized, and told what would be done to their bodies and emotions when they talk about something online, and neither should women. Online types of sexual harassment cause similar effects to that of physical acts of sexual assault. For the better of our nation and society, we should outlaw this treatment of half of our population. The internet should not be a safe haven for perpetrators.
