I think it's high time that all politicians start EARNING their money. Some of them don't even show up to vote on issues. Others are able to sit back and obstruct the process of creating new laws. Either way, and no matter how well or poorly the country is doing our "leaders" still get paid, and get paid a lot.
There needs to be a system that dictates how much our "leaders" get paid based on how the country is doing, economically speaking. The better the economy the more they can make (no ceiling), the worse the economy the less they make (minimum wage, if it came to it).
If each politician is truly deserving of their position and only had the best intentions for AMERICA and all AMERICANS then they should have no problem putting their money where their mouth is.
