The Obama Administration should fund a test facility to demonstrate the low cost and unique performance of the 2nd generation superconducting maglev transport system. This is the 2nd generation of the Japanese system that President Obama admired when he introduced the High Speed Passenger Rail program on April 16, 2009 but apparently did not know that it was invented by American Scientists Drs. James Powell and Gordon Danby.
Unique Capabilities are:
• carries high-revenue highway trucks and autos as well as passengers,
• 300 mph travel on low cost elevated monorail guideway beams erected alongside U.S. Interstate Highways,
• electronically switch at high speeds to off-line stations,
• operates in levitated mode on existing RR tracks in metropolitan areas
• can be privately financed.
