This petition is to ask the current administration to modify firearms law to let individuals who have been properly trained to carry in places shooters are most likely to strike, and focus on seeking better care for those individuals who would be prone to attacking these areas.
History has shown that individuals attack areas that are least likely to present armed resistance. By allowing citizens their right to defend themselves and others by carrying in these locations with a proper license you deter criminals from acting there. Let's face it, police can't be everywhere.
We already prepare for fires and train everyone in the event of fires at schools to reduce the chance of children dying needlessly. Why can't we afford the same preparation and safeties for active shooter situations?
