Start schools later in response to declining grades because of lthe lack of sleep teenagers are getting.

Created by C.J. on January 11, 2016

Teenagers are not getting enough sleep period. When they get up at 5, 6, 7 a.m. In the morning, they are not ready to go to school. Getting up at this time is not allowing teenagers to get the sleep they need to get good grades. Because of the lack of sleep teenagers are getting each night, they are getting lower test grades than they would if they have had the 2 extra hours of sleep. Schools know that this is a problem yet they will not act upon this issue. One of the reasons why school districts are not acting upon this issue is because the teachers want to get home early after school and not wanting to get home at 5 or 6 pm if the schools were to start later in the day. This is a real problem because teenagers are not getting enough sleep to be able to learn to their potential.
