Government spending control should start by government officials setting the example:
Freeze all pay increases to all Federal government officials, including to their staff, from the White House to Senate, Congress, Supreme Court, and Pentagon.
No cost of living increases for any retired government officials.
Senators and Congressmen are representatives of their respective State and not a Federal government employee. Decrease Federal spending by having each State pay for their own representatives - salary, health benefits, staff, office expenses, travel and entertainment expenses, and retirement benefits.
