The Churches have become very political over the last few years in their vocal stance against Marriage Equality. The Mormon church was a HUGE contributor to PROP 8. Just 2 weeks ago, the Catholic Bishops voiced their stance nationwide to stop any and all Same Sex Marriage, enforce DOMA, and repeal Women's rights.
Since all revenue (taxes) is supposedly "on the table" with the recent Supercommittee, it is time that the CHURCH now pay their fair share since they wish to be actively involved in Social Issues.
