I am starting this petition in order for the elderly, disabled, and poor to be able to receive the proper amount of government assistance such as SNAP (food stamps), Medicaid and/or Medicare, and other types of state and federal programs. A single person without dependents can often times become ineligible to receive benefits. The policy behind this needs to be changed in order for these people to be properly cared for.
