A slew of OWS (Occupy Wall Street) and related encampments nationwide have been shut down in the last week, after many weeks of peaceful occupation and protest. This strongly suggests coordination and cooperation among the mayors and police chiefs involved, and possibly also with federal officials, perhaps the FBI or Homeland Security. The President should state definitively whether there was any federal involvement, of any kind and in any degree, and if so, by what authority.
If the the protesters are facing opposition from the Federal Government, possibly using powers enacted following the attacks of 9/11, we have a right to know that and also what warrants federal involvement against Constitutionally sanctioned activities.
