state that the government needs to realize that they are not employed to tell the public what to do.

Recently a senator tried to introduce mandatory church for all American citizens. My ire is not created at the idea (which is clearly an attack against freedom of religion as well as the separation of church and state) My problem is that is shows a glaringly false idea that the current politicians seem to hold. There seems to be this belief that their job is to protect the american citizen from themselves whether it be through large sodas to small arms. These people do not seem to realize that they are the servants of the public and that the people they represent are not stupid animals that they need to rule with an iron fist. The government needs to acknowledge that they are servants before any action they take going forward.
