Colombia is a nation of rich cultural identity and is loaded with natural resource opportunity. Areas where natural resources are prevalent are also safe havens for the FARC and other guerrilla like organizations who rely on gold and silver operations to fund their interest. These places are highly dangerous to even native Colombians and their corporations, even more so to companies and individuals from the United States. A strong U.S. military presence effectively forcing guerrilla operations out of these regions will benefit international trade between the United States and Colombia, and improve the lives of the native peoples in these areas. The military presence will also allow for safer travels of citizens of the U.S. and her allies in Colombia.
