We are not the police of the world. It is not a role we have been given, though sometimes we act like it. It will never be the United States' job to intervene in foreign countries' affairs. The UK figured that out, don't let us be caught out. This is a job for the UN. It's a job for Syria.
Our leaders seem to think we have a good track record in the Middle East. We don't. No one does. It's not going to work. We'll pour billions of dollars into a fight that IS NOT OUR FIGHT instead of maybe, just once, focusing on our own interests. And I don't mean interests like gas, I mean interests like education. Interests that will make our nation truly strong for generations to come.
