Steepen the penalty when a Police Officer* is murdered or assaulted and self defense is not applicable to the assailant.

Due to recent tragedies in this country, we have seen the unlawful and disgusting murders of civil servants who have dedicated their careers to ensuring the safety of American people. We believe that any persons who is or was previously employed through the United States military, any form of law enforcement, firemen, postal workers, etc. should have the peace of mind knowing that if their life was taken or assault brought upon them, that their assailants shall receive a much heavier penalty than if a pedestrians life were taken or endangered, in hopes that this would give further conpensation to grieving families, and to discourage monstrosities from occurring just like they recently have in Dallas Texas.
