The strikes at our shipping ports are shutting down trade (both import and export) for thousands of companies. Not only are our imported goods sitting afloat at idle, but every penny this strike cost the companies importing these goods, will translate into price inflation for the end user.
Also as a result, this delay in shipping can further damage our trade relations with the countries the US exports to, a relationship that is already sensitive.
Simply put, the wants of a few are crippling the needs of the masses. For this to have gone on this long without the Obama Administration stepping in is a reflection on the chain of power in this country.
