A group of 15 remaining doctors in Aleppo, Syria wrote a letter to President Obama, begging for his help in protecting the citizens of Syria. The longer we do nothing, the more people will die, and the more consequences we will see around the world - the rise of terrorist organizations to fill the leadership void, struggling refugees, and unnecessary death and suffering.
We look back at the genocide in Rwanda and think, 'My God, how did the world let this happen?'. It is happening again. It has been happening for 5 years. We must stop it.
This is a human rights imperative. Innocent people - including children - are dying every day and we can stop it. Mr. President and Congress, please step up to do what is right - for the people of Syria, for Americans, and for the world.
